How To Bridge

  1. Go to the bridge website here: https://stacksbridge.com
  2. Connect your MetaMask wallet and your Hiro wallet (MetaMask is the only Ethereum wallet supported)
  3. Select the Satoshibles that you would like to bridge
  4. Click the Transfer to... button
  5. Agree to the terms and click Initiate Transfer
  6. The transaction will pop up through your MetaMask or Hiro wallet extension (depending on which way you are bridging). All you need to do is approve the transaction and sit back and wait.
    Note:
The first time you use the bridge to go from Ethereum to Stacks, you will need to approve two transactions in your MetaMask wallet. The first will be an approval transaction which gives the bridge the ability to interact with your NFTs, and the second is the transaction that will initiate the bridge process.
  7. Two links will be displayed on the screen, one is the Ethereum transaction and the other is the Stacks transaction. Once the Ethereum transaction is successful and the Stacks transaction has been confirmed in an anchor block, your Satoshibles have been successfully bridged.

How to find your newly bridged Satoshibles

If you just bridged your Satoshibles onto Stacks, you can see your Satoshibles by connecting your Hiro wallet and going to your profile page on any of the different marketplaces available on Stacks.

If you just bridged your Satoshibles onto Ethereum, you can see your Satoshibles by connecting your MetaMask wallet and going to your profile page on Opensea (https://opensea.io)

What else do I need to know?

IT IS SLOW
As we are all used to Etherum transaction speeds, the transaction speeds on Stacks are much, MUCH, slower. Let’s not forget, Stacks is only 1 year old. We are getting in on the ground floor! They are growing exponentially and with the introduction of side chains this year, it can only get better. Long story short, when you do the bridge over, expect anywhere from 10–30 mins to wait for the transaction to be settled in an anchor block.

DO NOT PANIC
This is really important, since things move slower on Stacks, it opens up the fear monkey in your brain, do not listen to the fear monkey, the fear monkey is not your friend. It is the blockchain, we can always find out exactly what is going for you and everything will be good. If you are having issues, DM one of the team.

UI IS NOT PERFECT
We are still not 100% happy with the UI, we want you to know exactly what is going on at every second of the transfer. We are not there yet, the feedback could be much better. Try not to panic if your Satoshible is suddenly not showing in the UI or something similar, this means that it’s either in the process of being transferred, or something is waiting to be confirmed.

FAQ

QUESTION: Do I need to delist from Opensea before bridging?
ANSWER: It is not required to delist from Opensea before bridging your sats. However, if you bridge a listed Satoshible and are planning on bridging it back to Ethereum, We recommend you cancel any listings you may have through the Inactive listings tab on your Opensea profile. This will protect you from selling your Satoshible at a price you might not want to sell it at.

QUESTION: Why can’t I use the bridge from my phone?
ANSWER: Unfortunately, there is no mobile version of the Hiro wallet (yet). This means that it is impossible to use the bridge on mobile.
